Mental Health Support Advocate

My son is a sensitive soul and struggled with a particular kid in his class and has progressively become more unruly himself as the year went on. I was not only impressed with how the teachers approached this issue but also prepared me to share some words of wisdom with him. There’s a lot of growing and becoming resilient through the years of school and during those times of big emotions, it’s great to feel supported by staff that my little one is being heard.

I’m happy to see there is less of a stigma around mental health in the school system and implementing mental health screenings at our schools can further ease the fear for impressionable children around asking for help.

Have you seen/personally experienced a change around mental health support in the public school system?
