Mental Health Advocate from Michigan

A mom and her three sons embrace on the sand in front of a dock.

Life isn’t always smiles and rainbows. Sometimes we have to do the hard things and life isn’t fun and it’s messy. Half of adults with mental health conditions in Michigan didn’t get the treatment they needed last year. The sad thing is that it isn’t just adults, our kids and teens are suffering too. When it comes to our teens, about 6 in 10 teens that could benefit from services are not getting the help they need. We need to stop just saying that we have a mental health problem in our country and actually start doing something about it.
