Mental Health Weekly featured Inseparable Chief Policy Officer David Lloyd in its coverage of a multistate lawsuit challenging the Trump administration’s new Medicaid work requirement rule. The lawsuit argues the rule unlawfully narrows protections for people considered “medically frail,” making it harder for individuals with serious mental health and substance use conditions to qualify for exemptions and maintain Medicaid coverage. “Our biggest concern is that people with mental health and substance use conditions could lose access to care under the rule that was put out. It is more restrictive than the statute Congress enacted. We’re very afraid that people will lose coverage who need it the most,” said David Lloyd, Chief Policy Officer at Inseparable.
